Summer is approaching fast, but I want to remind you about the new schedule we will begin on September 9. On the last Sunday in April, I shared with the church our new plan to begin a brand new Bible Fellowship hour followed by a new hour of worship.

This decision was a pragmatic one as we saw the great need in our church to make room for more people in Bible Fellowship. By beginning this new hour of Bible Fellowship, we are able to make room to reach about 1,100 new people in our church. I am very excited about the possibilities and believe God has been preparing our church for this time.

The summer will be busy as always, but the fall is going to be really exciting. Begin praying now and prepare your heart for God to do an exciting work at First Baptist Carrollton.

Alaska Mission Trip

Foreign missions does not mean it has to be out of the country. There are places in the United States that are in desperate need of Christ. One of those places is the bush country of Nome, Alaska. Our church will provide spiritual and physical help to the residents of Nome. We will do small construction projects for those in need throughout the community. We will also be preparing and fixing the church and getting it ready for the summer mission teams that will be helping Nome Community Church during the summer of 2012. Balanced - Students Summer Camp 2012

Join us for Summer Camp 2012. This year our theme is Balanced. We live in a world with so many things attempting to pull us in all different directions. Between school, extracurricular activities, family, work, etc., we rarely feel like we have a balanced life. The only true way to have a balanced life is to have our lives firmly rooted on and in Jesus Christ and His Word. Our speaker will be Chris Dowd and our band will be the James Curlin Band. We will be at Latham Springs Baptist Encampment, just north of West, Texas. At the camp, there will be sports tournaments, a man-made swimming pond complete with water slides and water rock walls, paintball, and more. We will have college student small group leaders for the week as well. Camp is June 15-19 and the cost is $205. Register below by June 3. We are very excited about camp this year and hope you will be able to join us.

Camp Wild for 1st-5th Grades

Join the Children's Ministry for fun, fun, fun at Camp WILD in Huntsville, Texas. It is for children who will complete 1st - 5th grade in 2012. This is a new camp that features a water park, climbing areas, putt-putt golf, and much, much more!

Campers will leave for Huntsville Sunday afternoon, July 29, after church and return late Wednesday afternoon, August 1. Cost is $300, with a non-refundable deposit of $75. May 21 the fee increases to $310. Please register at the link below.

Children's Soccer League

Our fall soccer league is a great recreational and instructional league for your child. Practices are once a week with games on Saturdays. Small team sizes encourage players to get more touches on the ball.

Cost: $60 until August 26/$70 after August 26 until final deadline on September 9
Equipment: Uniforms included in cost. Shin guards are required but not provided.
Practices: Begin the week of September 17 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday night depending on team assignment)

Games: Begin September 29

Co-ed Sand Volleyball

Thursdays this summer there will be a Co-ed Sand Volleyball League at The Fields. The league will begin June 21 and end with a tournament on August 2. Cost is $25 and includes a t-shirt. Register below.

Forerunners New York Mission Trip

The Forerunners travel to New York City every summer to hold Vacation Bible School clubs in two different parks. Join us as we share Christ to the people of New York City. The trip will be June 9-16. Please click the button below to register for the trip.

High School Lock-in at Group Dynamix

All high school students (those who have completed 9th-12th grade) are invited to spend the night at Group Dynamix June 29-30. We will engage in team building activities, ropes courses, and other activities. Food will be provided throughout the night. Cost is $15. Meet at Group Dynamix at 9 pm. Parents will pick up their student(s) at 9 am on Saturday, June 30. Register by June 13.

Kickball League

This league is a recreational league for all ages. Be a team leader and get a few families and/or friends to join together and make a team. Each family must register separately.

Divisions:
Family League - Any age
Adult League - 14+

Games will be Tuesday evenings, July 9-31.
Cost: $10 per family

Deadline to register is June 24.

Kids Camp

Children who complete 1st-5th grade in June 2012 are eligible to register. Camp will be Monday-Thursday, August 6-9, from 9 am-4 pm. The non-refundable fee is $90 and covers afternoon events, transportation, t-shirt, and supplies. Registration is not finalized until the Church Office receives a fully completed 2011/2012 Children's Medical & Liability Release Agreement (only one required per school year). PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to accommodate late registration and no waiting list will be maintained. Because enrollment is limited, please register as soon as possible to ensure getting your child's choice of activities. The registration deadline is July 22.

Campers will be able to select from three of the following activities and they will attend the same activities each day: computer art, cooking, crafts, dance (enrollment limited to 30), science, sign language, singing, and woodworking. Campers will need to bring lunch and a drink Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Tuesday, campers will eat lunch at Amazing Jakes.

Adults and high school volunteers are needed to assist activity leaders in the morning and/or to chaperone the afternoon activities. Volunteers are welcome, even if only able to serve an hour at a time.

Middle School Party at Main Event

We are going to spend the afternoon of June 7 (1-4 pm) at Main Event bowling and challenging one another in a game of laser tag. All students who have completed 6th-8th grade are invited to come. Cost is $10. Register by June 3.

One Voice Mission Tour 2012

The One Voice Middle School Choir will be doing a combination of local projects and singing and a weekend trip to Galveston for their 2012 Mission Project, June 21-24. Register online today. For more information, contact David Stanley at dstanley@fbcc.org.

Six Flags Day with 11th-12th Grade

Students who have completed their junior or senior year of high school are invited to spend the day at Six Flags seeking thrills and adventures with the FBCC Student Ministry staff on Tuesday, June 5. Register by May 30.

Sports Camps

Flag Football Camp
When: June 11-14 from 8-11 am
Ages: 5-12 year olds

Flag Football Camp combines the skills of learning the positions of quarterback, wide receiver, and running back with lots of other fun games centered around football. Participants will get to have a Super Bowl style tournament on the last day of camp that will combine competition and good sportsmanship. Questions? Email sports.fbcc.org.

Cost: $70 per week

All Star Sports and Games Camp
When: July 9-12 from 8 - 11 am
Ages: 5-12 year olds

Come experience an awesome sports camp where the main ingredient is FUN! This program will include sports like basketball, soccer, and flag football and may include other fun games like capture the flag, frisbee golf, ultimate frisbee, kickball, and dodgeball. Your child will get lots of exercise while enjoying every minute of it. Questions? Email sports.fbcc.org.

Cost: $70 per week

The Fields 'Lympix

Get together a team and join us on Saturday, July 28, to compete in a variety of fun games. Teams will also earn points for team spirit and best t-shirt design!

Cost: $10 per team
Ages: 6+

Equipment: Wear comfortable clothes and your team t-shirt. Game equipment will be provided.

Format: Teams should have a minimum of five players and should be a mix of adults and children. Individual game awards will be presented along with an overall team champion.

Every player must be registered individually and the fee is due from the team captain on the day of the event. Deadline to register is July 22.

Ukraine Mission Trip Registration

A team from our church will be going to the Ukraine to partner with local churches to lead in two soccer camps each day for a week. We will use soccer to reach the kids in the community and to help train the local church on how to continue using sports year-round to share the Gospel. In conjunction with the soccer camps, people will be leading in a time like VBS. On this trip, we need people with many different gifts, talents, and passions. We need athletes, teachers, craft leaders, administrators (people to help with logistics, sign-ups, etc...) and outgoing personalities that like to visit. This mission team needs people of all ages and soccer experience is not required. God is going to do a mighty work during this trip and you won't want to miss it! VBS 2012 - Amazing Wonders Aviation

You're clear for takeoff at Amazing Wonders Aviation™! Come join us as we fly to some of the world's greatest natural wonders and encounter God's awesome power! As we fly around the world, kids will take off for their first stop to the stunning Victoria Falls for Bible study. While flying around the world, kids will worship at the Worship Rally Hangar, have snacks at the Parícutin Volcano, enjoy music at the Matterhorn, have recreation at the Grand Canyon, and crafts at the Great Barrier Reef. There is no charge for this incredible trip. Kindergarten through 5th grade can come fly with us Monday, June 25-Friday, June 29 from 9 am-12 pm. Register below.

Children's Camp Scholarship Request

Scholarships are needed for children's camps. If interested in providing a scholarship for Camp WILD or Kids Camp, please email children.fbcc.org or call 972.512.3850.

Church Conference

Next Sunday, May 20, there will be a church conference at the beginning of the evening service. The purpose of the meeting is to elect messengers to the Southern Baptist Convention, Baptist General Convention of Texas, and Dallas Baptist Association annual meetings.

For the many who enjoy being paperless, the Worship Guide is now available via an RSS Feed. This online version is interactive and includes links to resources referenced in the Worship Guide. Global Mission Trips

We want to offer you the opportunity to make Christ's name known to the world. Please pray and seek God's guidance to go and make Him known to those who do not know Him. Contact the Global Outreach office if you want to learn more about the upcoming trips.

Lamplighters

Lamplighters, our ministry group to widows, will meet on Saturday, May 19, at 10 am in Room 108. Lunch is provided and will follow a program provided by one of our Forerunner missionaries, Donna Wright.

Living Proof Bake Sale

A Bake Sale will be hosted by Living Proof High School Choir in the Fellowship Mall on Sunday, May 20, before and after the morning worship service. Delicious home baked treats will be available. The cost will be $10 per item. All proceeds will be used to sponsor the summer mission trip to Buffalo, New York, and Niagara Falls.

Preschool Fun in the Son Summer

You and your preschoolers are invited to The Fields from 9:30-11:30 am for play times that will include such fun as sand play, pool play, kite play, and ball play. The spray ground will be open, so don't forget to bring a towel. No registration is required. Just come to The Fields and join the Preschool Ministry as we celebrate summer with you and your preschoolers.

June 20, July 18 and 25, and August 1

Ukraine Mission Trip Meeting

On Sunday night, May 20, after the evening service, we will have our first meeting in Room 174 for those interested in going on the Ukraine mission trip. The trip dates are August 4-11.
